On May 6, 1989, women of Presbyterian congregations in Central Virginia gathered at Second Church in Richmond to establish Presbyterian Women of Presbytery of the James (PW-POJ). In the thirty years since, Presbyterian Women have been fulfilling our “reason for being.” We commit to
- nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- support the mission of church worldwide,
- work for justice and peace, and
- build an inclusive, caring community that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
The Coordinating Team provides assistance in implementing this purpose by promoting communication among our churches and organizing annual gatherings. Contact Evalyn Page if you are interested in serving on the Coordinating Team. Available opportunities include area leaders and search committee members.
