POJ's Pastoral Care Fund provides emergency financial assistance to active and retired ministers of the Word and Sacrament and certified Christian educators. The Committee on Ministry (COM) makes confidential disbursements from the fund to those with demonstrated need.
In normal circumstances, the fund is replenished by offerings received at ordination and installation services of candidates for the office of minister of the Word and Sacrament.
With physical distancing requirements and limits on gatherings due to COVID-19, there have been no ordinations or installations of ministers since March 1. This has decreased the balance in the fund to around $1,200.
We invite you to support the fund. Giving is a gentle and loving way to show that the Presbytery cares when someone is hurting and needs help.
