Dear Members of the Presbytery of the James,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we navigate the ongoing changes and challenges in our world, our commitment to the well-being of our church family remains steadfast. I am writing to share important updates regarding the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (USA), particularly changes that will impact our healthcare options. Review an overview of the new plan.
Recognizing the complexity of these changes, we are committed to providing you with all the necessary resources and support to navigate this transition. Several staff members of the Presbytery will be attending an extensive training in Philadelphia April 30-May 1, 2024. To this end, we will be setting up a series of informational sessions where you can learn more about the implications of these changes and how to plan for potential adjustments in covering healthcare expenses.
We encourage each congregation to participate in these sessions, as they will be crucial in helping us understand and make informed decisions about the best ways to support the health and well-being of our community members and their families.
Further details on the dates and formats of these informational sessions will be forthcoming. As Presbytery staff, we are here to assist you through this transition and to address any concerns you may have.
Thank you for your continued faithfulness and the ways in which you embody Christ’s love in your ministries and communities. We look forward to walking together in faith and fellowship as we embrace these new opportunities for care and support.
Blessings and Peace to you,
Rev. Dr. Flo Barbee-Watkins
Lead Presbyter, Presbytery of the James
