You are invited to join, meet, and be in fellowship with colleagues from throughout the Presbytery of the James who serve smaller congregations. Being only a year removed from the Covid-19 lockdowns, it is important to get to know those whom we are serving with, especially when many of us have been distant for so long, or new to the POJ. So we invite YOU, because we want to see YOU!
During our time together, we will set aside space for real conversations. Don't worry about lectures or trying to take a million notes. Rather sit and chat about the real life joys and hardships around small church ministry with people who are sailing in the same boat.
Agenda
Thursday, March 2
Friday, March 3
Conversation Topics
Morning: Being a Small Church Leader Today
This conversation will center around your experience (good and bad) in leading a small church, and how this community of faith can help you move forward, whether it's helping with upcoming seasonal planning or discussing how to discern where God is leading you and your church family. Everything is on the table!
Afternoon: Being a Small Church in 2023
Here is a time to discuss how to be (or more accurately, continue to be) a small church in the year of our Lord 2023. What is it like to be in the POJ? How do we boost the morale of small congregations? Is digital media worth it/how do we do it? Lets talk about it all!
