Dear Sisters, Brothers, Siblings in Christ,
As we stand on the threshold of this festive season, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and joy. In this special time of year, we are reminded of the beautiful tapestry of our faith, woven through our shared experiences and the rich traditions that bind us together.
As we celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year, I am reminded of the words from Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." This Scripture encapsulates the heart of our Christmas message - a message of hope, peace, and enduring love.
This season is not just a commemoration of a miraculous event from the past, but a vibrant, living reminder of the light that continues to shine in our lives today. It is a call to embrace the spirit of collaboration and vision that defines our community in the Presbytery of the James.
As we move into the New Year, let us carry with us the joy and hope of Christmas. Let it inspire us to new heights of faith, cooperation, and service. May we find new ways to express God's love in our actions and to share His message of peace and goodwill with all.
May your Christmas be filled with wonder, your New Year with promise, and your hearts with an abundance of love and joy.
Blessings to you all,
Dr. Flo Barbee-Watkins
