One highlight of the 113th presbytery meeting on Saturday, February 18, was the installation of the moderator and vice moderator for 2023. Thank you, Rev. Rosalind Banbury and Cherry Peters, for your willingness to serve the presbytery in the coming term.
Rosalind, who had been vice moderator, was installed as moderator. Ordained in 1980 in the first wave of women ministers, she was always the first female installed pastor in each church she served until retirement in 2021. Since then, Rosalind has been interim pastor at Bethlehem Church in Mechanicsville.
Cherry was installed as vice moderator. She is a member of Second Church in Richmond, where she has served as a deacon, elder, and trustee. She also has served on the presbytery's Commission on Ministry.
We extend our grateful appreciation to Dan Jordanger for his leadership as moderator from October 2021 to February 2023. A ruling elder at Providence Church in Gum Spring, Dan presided over an astounding seven presbytery meetings during his term. With the installation of a new moderator on February 18, Dan's term as moderator has concluded, but we're happy to share he is sticking around as president of the Trustees.
