The Older Adult Ministry of Presbytery of the James invites you to join them at the Gifts of the Heart: Body, Mind, and Spirit day retreat on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event is hosted by First United Presbyterian Church, 3401 North Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.
Our presenters come with a wealth of information to share about our bodies as we age.
- Retired Cardiologist, Dr. Shelton Thomas is a graduate of UVA and was in private practice for 35 years specializing in Interventional Cardiology. He will focus on Gifts of the Heart.
- Retired Social Worker, Karen Scherling, will lead table discussions of various topics related to Challenges We Face as We Age.
- Fitness Specialist Taryn Young serves on the Wellness Team at Westminster Canterbury. She will enlighten us on Keeping Our Bodies and Minds Active.
- Chaplain Rev. Jay Morgan serves at Westminster Canterbury and will discuss Spirituality and Aging. Jay went to Union Presbyterian Seminary, did his chaplaincy training at VCU, and was ordained by the Presbytery of the James.
